Round 3 (and 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9...)

As my Christmas cards received are piling up by the day, I have been attempting to get my own card out--or should I say, started. This has been the biggest challenge of the season so far (other than trying to avoid the stomach flu, see prior post).

Getting the boys to smile with their Santa hats on and standing together was not a possibility, so I spent over an hour in Paint Shop trying to work with the old photos. With being out of commission 2 days, I'd left them at work, so re-shot some better ones Monday night that look pretty good (Luke was still bawling but I managed to capture a second where he only looks a little pained).

Tuesday night I spent 3 hours trying to paste the new photos into something that will work and submitting to Walgreens online. It said I needed to install a bunch of software to my PC, like Adobe Flash, etc. Did all that. Then it would not let me submit the order because I ordered 30 pictures with my coupon and they took it as meaning 30 orders and were trying to charge me $300. When I tried to backtrack, it erased all my work with the 4-picture photo.

You'd think I would have given up then, right?? Well, folks, I'm a slow learner about when to quit! I never know when to throw in the towel--it's usually too late when I finally do. So yesterday I drove to Walgreens with my order saved on my online account and the pictures on my thumb drive. Double back-up, I thought.

WRONG. Walgreens told me they can't access my online order from the store, and when we put my memory stick in the machine, it hung forever. Drove to a different Walgreens. (Like I said, I'm too damn tenacious for my own good, it'll kill me one day.) At the next Walgreens they figured out the problem with my thumb drive, it had over 2000 pictures on it and so they couldn't access the ones I wanted. They said I would have to go home, submit it online, or bring a fresh memory stick to the store. At that point I was ready to weep, but had already come to expect no better.

Last night I was finally able to submit the order online, but they said I could not use my coupon, because it was good for in-store only. Which meant I either have to pony up another $10 or not have enough pics for everyone on my list. Whatever, I just wanted the pictures. With the order submitted, it said I could pick them up this morning.

GET THIS, I then got a call from Walgreens last night saying their photo machine is down!! NO JOKE. At that point I just laughed. I mean, what else can you do. Obviously there is some Dark Force out there that does not want me to send out my cards this year. Anyway, I just called and it looks like I will be able to have them by tomorrow morning. Seeing will be believing!

LMAO!!! Hysterical! Being persistant pays off eh!? I'm happy that you'll finally be able to get your Xmas cards out this year!

Unfortunately, I will not be sending any out this year, not because Hannah won't sit still but the fact that I just have far too much going on and unfortunately didn't make it a major priority.

Hmmm. What I did was just copy/paste a picture of me and Benny in a simple word document. Then I shrunk it down so that I could fit about 15 pictures on one page. Then I hit print 3 times. Took scissors, cut them out, pasted them in cards. Done. So it's not a photo quality. Who cares. Total time invested? About 20 min.

Wish I had inherited some of that tenacity.
Looking forward to seeing your cards and the picture you picked.
