Easter Egg Hunt

A week ago Saturday was the big Easter Egg Hunt in our town! This year the weather was perfect so we were able to have it outside unlike the past 2 years. This was the first year my guys really understood enough about it to make it a good time, although Luke kept handing eggs to his friend Jacob instead of putting them in his basket, but they still got a lot of loot!

Heather and Zoie came over to our house beforehand and we all went together. She and Liam held hands almost the whole time, they really took a shining to each other. Here they are in the driveway with their baskets before we left.

Once at the egg hunt, there were a ton of eggs and every child got a ticket for a bag of goodies on top of the eggs! I have heard that at larger hunts, even in the bigger town a few miles away, every kid got a maximum of 2 eggs! We met up with my friend Vicki and her cousin Tammy once there, and they'd gone to the other hunt and said they never will again. My sis said theirs was bad too, for the same reason.

Once at the egg hunt, Zoie and Liam again were holding hands. So sweet!

Top secret discussions going on...

Luke was afraid of the Easter Bunny again this year. Which was no surprise as he was frightened last year and also of Santa.

This year my daycare lady's son was the Easter Bunny but Luke was still frightened even though he sees the kid every day. Too funny!

All 3 kids sit and wait for the hunt to begin.

I'm glad Zoie was there to keep Liam at bay. Last year he ran out in the middle of the gym too early because he was bedazzled by all the colorful eggs.

I didn't get any photos of the actual "hunt" but here is Luke with his full basket!

Vicki and I were best friends in grade school, especially 5th grade, but then her dad got a job far away and they moved to the western part of the state. We ran into each other for the first time at the Santa line in December and she lives just 20 mins away now, our kids are close in age so we will be getting together more I hope.

Zoie came over for a little while to play afterward. She hammed it up with my guys on the bench by the swingset.
