Weekend Warriors & Time Change Rant

I've got two active guys on the loose. Every day they get more mobile, more aware of the world around them, and faster. Their personalities are really starting to shine through. Lk now loves to climb on the furniture and do headstands (I think I mentioned in a previous post that my doctor co-pays are $30 per visit, so he's going to put me into bankruptcy before long.) Lm has discovered running and loves to open and shut things. He also likes to find Grandpa's hats and wear them around the house.

Here he's doing a jiggy dance.

Ahhh...he LOVES the remote control! If I'm watching Snapped and all of a sudden Nancy Grace is on, I know why...

Safe in Grandma's arms.

Trying to avoid the paparazzi (aka: his mom)...

Lk does most of his gymnastics in his crib.

Here he's starting for the headstand.

When he does this it scares me half to death, so I haven't yet been able to get a good photo of him. This is where he's already toppled from the headstand.

Last weekend I gave Lm a haircut. It's the first one that is not half bad, eh? Usually I hire my daycare lady to cut it (really, to fix the butcher job I've done!) but this time it turned out alright.

Now, on to his favorite task, pulling out the wipes one by one.
The time change was really hard, by the way. Invented by William Willett in 1905 (Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's great grandfather!), it hasn't necessarily met its original purpose of saving energy, at least in our time.

However, I'm going to propose a few changes for any senators or members of congress that may be reading my solipsistic blog:
  • Let's leave the time DST all year around. Who cares if it's dark first thing in the morning during the winter? What's really depressing is driving home from work in the dark.
  • Moms with kids under the age of 10 should be EXEMPT from any time changes. Those of us with small children face a real hardship coordinating nap times, mealtimes, and the like when we lose an hour.

OK...I second all of that! Time change is just HELL with munchkins. They just do not get it and it makes life harder for everyone around them...LOVE Liam's haircut. Precious and just make shim look more like Brennyn...

Cute pix of the boys!! Good job on Liam's hair! I hope I can cut hair as good as you! ;o) I hear ya on the time change! Hannah went to bed at 8pm instead of 7pm and I had to wake her up tired. Hopefully she'll adjust soon!
